Senate & Assembly Vote on Budget

Before the Senate passed the budget bill there was spirited debate over whether the numbers were real.  Republicans point to the Governor’s budget which is a billion dollars less than the Democrats, as being more realistic and based on more modest revenue projections.  However, the Assembly is also considering the higher budget, which Democrats say will add more funding for school districts, and the working poor.
