Governor Christie Withdraws from 10-State Regional Greenhouse Gas Reduction Program

By Ed Rodgers

Governor Christie said he believes that climate change is taking place and that people play some role.  However, he called the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, or REGGI, a failure and said New Jersey is exiting from the program.  Under the program ten northeast states auction off their carbon dioxide emissions that exceed a certain cap.  The money raised is used to pay for developing clean energy programs.
