NJN Employees Receive Layoff Notices As the Network Moves Closer to Privatization

The 124 remaining state employees at NJN Public Television and Radio received layoff notices … 45 days in advance of the July 1 layoff date. The Christie administration is moving forward with its plan for an independent non-profit to operate the Network. The winner of a bidding process, now almost complete, is expected to be announced in late May or June. The legislature then has 15 days to override the award or else it stands.
