Senate Budget Hearing on Department of Children & Families

The Commissioner of the Department of Children and Families, Allison Blake, testified before the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee regarding the DCF’s 1.5 billion dollar budget which is being cut in Governor Christie’s plan by 11 million dollars.  Senator Teresa Ruiz asked how Blake can promise more services next year.  Blake told the committee that while the state has been under a hiring freeze, DYFS has not and caseworkers now have manageable caseloads.
