Federal Funding Designated for Rail Service Improvements

U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood announced nearly 800 million dollars has been designated for funding for projects on Amtrak’s Northeast corridor.  More than half of the money will be used to help Amtrak boost capacity and reliability.  Officials say it’s a worthy investment that will create jobs and help revitalize the economy.
