Roommate Indicted in Tyler Clementi Suicide Case

By Dari Mandell

It has been seven months since Rutgers University student Tyler Clementi committed suicide by throwing himself off the George Washington Bridge.  His roommate, Dharun Ravi, now faces charges of bias, invasion of privacy, and witness and evidence tampering, among others, for allegedly using a webcam to stream Clementi having an intimate encounter with another man.  The attorney general hopes the indictment charges will send a strong message to bullies.  If convicted on the most serious bias charge, Ravi could face up to ten years in state prison.
