New Jersey Federal Agencies Prepare for Shutdown

While the stalemate continues in Washington federal offices in New Jersey have been preparing for a partial government shutdown. The impact for New Jersey residents may be significant depending on the service. Passport offices, national parks and museums will be closed. The federal housing administration, which guarantees about 30 percent of home mortgages, would stop guaranteeing loans. Tax refunds may be delayed and the IRS hotline may close.
