Point Pleasant Mayor Claims Shore Communities Denied Tourist Revenue

The mayor of Point Pleasant Beach has a unique problem and is advocating a controversial solution.  The Borough of Point Pleasant Beach does not own its beautiful, ocean-front beaches.  Instead, those beaches are the property of business concerns.  So the town has the burden of providing services for a booming shore tourism industry…but has limited access to the money its beaches generate.  Mayor Vincent Barrella wants the right to tax his tourists.
