Governor Christie & Senate President Sweeney United on Shared Services

Governor Christie and Senate President Sweeney emerged from a meeting with 35 of Camden County’s 37 mayors, having spread the word that they both support the idea of regionalizing police in Camden. Christie said in a two-percent cap world, local government has to start worrying more about cost. The plan involves giving town officials the option of dissolving their own police departments and joining a countywide force.
