Senate to Vote on Cable Deregulation Bill

The bill known as the Market Competition and Consumer Choice Act would take the Board of Public Utilities out of the business of regulating basic phone and cable rates.  The bill was scheduled for a vote in the full Senate today but opponents helped get it pulled arguing it’s not ready in its current form.  Opponents of the bill, including CWA, Citizen Action and the AARP, are encouraging residents to call their legislators and urge them to vote against the bill.
