NJ Senate Budget & Appropriations Committee Holds Public Hearing on FY 2012 Budget

The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee held the first public hearing of the 2012 budget season at Bergen County College in Paramus.  The panel heard from about 50 individuals and program representatives.  They were there to make their case for funding for next fiscal year.  The governor’s 29.4 billion dollar spending plan cuts spending by 2.6 percent over last year.  Today, those who advocate for the state’s most vulnerable residents described the human costs to program cuts present, past and future.
