The North Jersey District Water Supply Commission (NJDWSC) oversees the largest water supply system in the state. It serves over two million North Jersey residents. The commission is an independent authority of the state with about 170 employees. Its seven commissioners, who are appointed by the Governor, are expected to respond to a letter sent by Governor Christie questioning their perks, travel, compensation and whether relatives work at the agency.
