Reaction to Proposed Education Reforms

Proposed changes to teacher tenure rules which would make it tougher to get the protections and easier to lose them will destroy job security says the President of the NJEA, Barbara Keshishian. Keshishian believes the proposed changes aren’t necessary because she says the current tenure system works. However, critics say the current tenure process is too lengthy, costly and doesn’t weed out bad teachers.
