Governor Christie Blames Downgrading of NJ’s Credit Rating on Democrats During Union City Townhall Meeting

By Zachary Fink

New Jersey’s credit rating has been downgraded by Standard and Poor’s to a double minus.  Governor Christie places the blame for the downgrade on the Democrats in the Legislature whom he blames for failing to deal with pension and benefits reform.  Assembly Majority Leader Joe Cryan released a statement saying, “The Assembly is not about to be lectured by a governor whose budget policies have led to massive property tax hikes and a ballooning pension deficit. It’s time for this governor to be held accountable for his actions and stop blaming everyone else.”
