Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission Resignations

Allegations of nepotism and politically expedient contracts have stirred things up at the state’s largest water treatment plant. The Passaic Valley Sewerage Commissioners became Governor Christie’s latest target. This week he took the unprecedented action of requesting the resignation of 6 of the 7 serving commissioners. He said resign or face ethics charges. As of late yesterday, all of those six commissioners had sent in their letters of resignation. Now Christie and Democratic State Senator Loretta Weinberg want to pass legislation to increase oversight at the Commission…permanently.
