As promised, the snow fell hard on New Jersey overnight. The National Weather Service reported anywhere from 1.5 inches in Atlantic City to as much as 12.5 inches in Hackensack and East Rutherford. Overall, most counties got a fresh, heavy coat of snow. State Department of Transportation officials say they had all hands on deck and all plows and front loaders out on the major highways.
