AC Mayor Opposed to Governor’s Tourism Proposal Changes

By Dari Mandell

Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford is concerned about the proposed changes the governor wants to make saying the state-run tourism district should only include the boardwalk and beach, not other area attractions.  The mayor says zoning and planning should still be run locally not by the state and costs for an additional police department in the district shouldn’t be the city’s burden.  The mayor said he felt left out of the policy making decision process by the Christie administration.
