New Jersey Legislature’s most powerful Democrats, Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver, demanded and received an apology from Assembly Minority Leader Alex DeCroce for derogatory remarks he made about the unemployed. While on stage at the New Jersey Business and Industry Association’s annual conference DeCroce said this about those collecting unemployment, “Frankly I’m one of the few of us who feel the benefit is too good for these people…a lot of people figure why go to work.”
