Six-day Bear Hunt Begins

By Ed Rodgers
Animal rights groups failed to block the bear hunt which began this morning and extends through December 11.  The Department of Fish and Wildlife issued 75 bear hunting permits with a significant number of the outdoorsmen coming from out-of-state. State environmental officials say the hunt is being held to help reduce the growing number of complaints about bears.  Biologists predict 300 to 700 bears may be taken over the course of the hunt.

One Response to Six-day Bear Hunt Begins

  1. Richard Jaretsky says:

Last nights coverage of the bear hunt was pathetic. How about giving the opposition to the hunt equal time?!!! Contact http://www.savenjbears.com for some insight on this trophy hunt that borders on crimanality. How about a story on the violation of the protesters constitutional rights? What ever happened to investigative reporting or at least fair reporting?
