Legality of Capping Superintendents’ Salaries under Scrutiny

The New Jersey Association of School Administrators, which represents the state’s approximately 600 public school superintendents, is considering a legal challenge of the Christie Administration’s directive which – in effect – freezes superintendent contract negotiations.  Governor Christie wants to keep districts from rushing pay deals in order to beat a salary cap on superintendent pay that is scheduled to take effect in February.
