The Future of Horseracing in New Jersey

A supplemental list of recommendations, to be included in the Hanson Report on horseracing in New Jersey, calls for consolidating all live racing at one venue, selling the state’s racetracks for operation by the private sector, and outlines a plan that would end live racing at the Meadowlands except for the six-day Hambletonian harness race. The report recommended consolidating all live racing at Monmouth Park, reducing the standardbred season to 30-days this year and 70 days every year thereafter.
