Senator Sweeney and Mayors Partner for Property Tax Relief

Senate President Steve Sweeney says while it’s good to discuss the Governor’s “tool kit,” the real savings to taxpayers will come from shared services. Sweeney held an afternoon press conference along with a handful of mayors who gave examples of sharing municipal services as a way to cut costs. Christie and the Republicans have been criticizing Sweeney and the Democrats for not moving fast enough on the tool kit which will help them meet a property tax cap of two percent that takes effect in January.
