Amtrak and NJ Transit May Partner to Salvage ARC Tunnel

Amtrak officials say 20 years of planning for the ARC Tunnel may be salvaged.  In September, Amtrak unveiled its vision for a 117 billion dollar high-speed rail line that would require building a new set of tracks along the entire Northeast corridor, from Boston to Washington, D.C.  Amtrak and New Jersey Transit are considering a partnership to build the new lines under the Hudson – essentially breathing new life into the controversial ARC Tunnel project.
