Football Injuries Sideline Some Players Permanently

While some football injuries may sideline an athlete for a game or two – some can be life-changing. Recently, Rutgers University player Eric LeGrand suffered a catastrophic spinal injury while making a tackle during a Rutgers-Army game. In an effort to prevent these types of injuries the National Football League has announced that a player could be suspended, rather than merely fined, for an illegal hit to an opponent’s head even if it is a first offense.
