The Soprano State Documentary Premiere

By Marie DeNoia Aronsohn
A new documentary entitled, The Soprano State: New Jersey’s Culture of Corruption, The Documentary Part One, had its big New York City premier at the Ziegfeld Theater last night. Garden State political figures and a handful of television and movie actors were among the invited guests. The film is the movie-version of the best-selling book of the same title.  Both chronicle a long list of New Jersey’s official corruption cases.  It features a whimsical score, off-color jokes and remarks, and interviews with some of the state’s top journalists. All converge to tell the tale of a state steeped in misdeeds, misconduct, greed, and compromised ethics.
