Schools in Newark Take Part in the Global Village Zone

In the wake of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s 100 million dollar challenge grant, Newark Public School District has been front and center in the public eye.  The question…will this money and a renewed commitment mean meaningful reform for this district of 40 thousand students?  NJN News Senior Correspondent Marie DeNoia Aronsohn looks at a reform project already getting a trial run in Newark.  It is called Global Village Zone and it is predicated on the theory that meaningful changes in the classroom only happen when the entire community is receiving support services.
