Jersey Fresh Season Begins

The kick-off of the “Jersey-Fresh” season began today with the opening of all 144 community farmers markets around the state. Many are located in urban communities like Newark, where the ability to buy produce straight from the farm is often limited. To help encourage low-income residents to buy fresh produce the state offers a federally funded voucher program to seniors who meet certain income requirements.
