The Senate defeated a resolution that would have rejected the transfer of NJN’s operations over to New York-based WNET with a vote of 20 to 19. The resolution fell one vote shy of the majority needed to prevent the transfer. After 40 years on the air NJN will cease operations effective Friday, July 1st.
Say goodbye to NJN and hello to NJTV.
How Sad. Now we turn to NY for our news on NJ.
I am deeply disturbed that our NJN will be terminated as of today.
This station has wonderful broadcasts as well as a fantastic team of reporters. This is all New Jersey based!
With all these pluses, our state lawmakers don’t even have the guts to say “No” to the governor on this fire sale.
New Jersey has become a bleaker place after today.
Thank you to all you wonderful people at NJN….If it were up to me, you would all still have your jobs.
