Montclair Township has officially launched the first digital parking meter system in the state that uses a cell phone to make payments. Customers will pay a 25-cent convenience fee to the vendor, Park-Mobile, but the town won’t spend a dime. Montclair officials hope offering more convenient parking options will increase traffic for merchants.
More & more ways to suck every dollar (I mean penny) out of our pockets. The politicians just want to keep funding their out-of-control salaries, benefits, & pensions. If they had any real concern for the merchants, or taxpayers, they would eliminate meters so the merchants would be on an even playing field to complete with the malls and the free parking they provide. MONTCLAIR POLITICIANS TAKE NOTE: you have many empty stores and the large VACANT auto dealership and its boarded up parking deck. Keep taxing, feeing, & regulating and you will soon have all these stores empty!
