Newly Elected Mayor Felix Roque Takes Oath of Office

A victory in West New York could have ramifications that reach all the way to the State House. Last week, Democratic challenger Felix Roque beat incumbent, organization-supported Democrat Silverio “Sal” Vegas. Analysts say, the new mayor has ties to Democrats that have developed close relationships to Republican Governor Chris Christie. If the Governor racks up yet another key leader in traditional democratic territory, it could ease his way to re-election.
