Assembly Budget Committee Holds Hearing on Medicaid Cuts

In testimony before the Assembly Budget Committee a panel of 13 health care professionals, mainly those who provide for the elderly in nursing homes, warned a proposed 140 million dollar cut in Medicaid funding would be devastating – not only to those who reside in nursing homes but to those who provide their care. Some said there are facilities that have a high number of Medicaid beneficiaries who may be forced to shut down.
