Testimony about New Jersey’s various tourism and arts offerings and their funding requirements were presented to the Assembly Committee on Tourism and the Arts. The New Jersey Ballet used to receive 220 thousand state dollars but now receives just 90 thousand. The Bergen County Performing Arts Center has had its allocation cut from 450 to 118 thousand dollars. And the Superbowl promotional campaign is anxious about missing opportunities for promotion due to lack of funding. The larger concern for the committee is how cash-strapped New Jersey will afford to support all of these endeavors.
