For the past ten years, over 70 thousand veterans nationwide have recorded their stories for the Veterans History Project which is a project of the American Folklife Center of the Library of Congress. The project collects first-person accounts of military service from American war veterans and civilians who supported them. Senator Frank Lautenberg, who fought in World War II, spoke at Rutgers University and encouraged more veterans to participate.
How do I find out more about this? I would like to get some ww II veterans I know to get involved.
