Investigation into Effect of Pollutant Found in Ocean Co. Water

Federal researchers are trying to determine if a pollutant, san trimer, is responsible for elevated numbers of childhood cancer in one New Jersey town. San trimer is a byproduct of the manufacture of plastics. The federal Environmental Protection Agency says waste containing san trimer was dumped at the Reich superfund site by Union Carbide.
