Six Flags Great Adventure Fire Aftermath

NJN News Archive: May 14, 1984

 Investigators poured over the charred remains of the Haunted Castle amusement site, at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, after a fire erupted and claimed the lives of eight teenagers.  There were no smoke detectors, sprinklers or fire alarms in the Haunted Castle but according to state officials that was not against the law as the site was considered a temporary structure.
