Diabetic Retinopathy the Leading Cause of Blindness in Adults

Diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness in adults and 25-percent of the people who have diabetes aren’t aware of it. Often it is a routine eye exam that reveals the problem. A retinal exam gives an unobstructed view of the blood vessels that can indicate warning signs for diabetes before a patient notices symptoms.
