One in Ten Americans Has Diabetes

Currently, one in ten Americans has diabetes, but the Center for Disease Control predicts that number will jump to one in three in the next forty years, if we don’t start exercising and eating right. Dr. Meena Murthy, a diabetes expert at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick, says diabetes is linked to heart disease and affects nerves and circulation in every part of the body. An estimated 800-thousand New Jerseyans have diabetes. But, one out of four don’t know it.
